Seeing as how we just started the ASK PERCI column, I haven't received any letters from site visitors yet. In fact, as you can see, we just rolled out a completely new site design, and so I've been pretty busy with on location photo shoots, web copy and the like.
Once things have settled down, I'll have time to answer some questions from the old site, or maybe by then, we'll have some new questions to field. Until then ...

It's starting to get a little chilly in Tallahassee, so after meeting with the State of Florida Division of Management Services (representing more than 100,000 state employees) we headed South to St. Petersburg and met with and Raymond James & Associates, a major financial corporation in St. Petersburg that has 6,500 employees worldwide. Both groups were interested in dollar-based, consumer-driven plans for their employees.

This month we flew into the great state of Alabama to visit with our good friends at the Alabama Dental Association, and to jointly promote the Pelican Dental Concepts to Alabama employers. In early 2009, we expect to see a significant endorsement which will impact a broad base of employees, bringing affordable health benefits to many Alabama workers. It's all just a part of the job!

We just flew to Orlando for the Florida National Dental Convention. Wow is that Gaylord Hotel "pelican friendly" or what? I spent a lot of time at the golf course, acting as the official convention mascot, but then got serious for our official meeting, introducing BenefitStream, our new plan administrator. We talked about the Alabama and Ohio mentor program, and how it's gotten off to a great start. It looks like I'll be living out of a suitcase for the rest of the year, as we embark on the Pelican road show.

It seems like we're getting more and more individual and small group plan requests. Maybe this is a consequence of the recent economic downturn. We've been helping these folks out by referring them to our partners over at FDA Services. As a pelican, I don't have much to deal with in the way of dental issues, but not having dental coverage can still be a real beak-ache, so I'm glad we could help.

Well here we are back in Orlando for the Florida National Dental Convention. I just peeked into the meeting room where they where teaching a course about the Health Care reform impact on Pelican Plans. I'm happy to say there's nothing bad to report, so it's back to the 9th hole flag detail for a little sun and relaxation. We'll be headed back to Tallahassee tommorrow where I'll be back at the head of the flock for Pelican Dental.
